Swedish premiere September 11 at Klarascenen, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"642\">\u201cI am so happy to collaborate with Cullberg on <em data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"399\">Some Thing Folk<\/em>, a work that requires the scale and commitment they provide,\u201d says Ligia Lewis. \u201cTheir rigorous training and focus create the possibility to dive deeply into the creation of a work that allows for bold political and aesthetic propositions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"842\">The dream of the almost impossible is about filling the meaning of what it is to be human with something new. To reframe all the stories and patterns we have inherited and that we carry within us.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"1240\">Ligia Lewis is inspired by feminist theorist Zakkiyyah Iman Jackson and cultural anthropologist Elizabeth Povinelli. In <em data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"981\">Some Thing Folk<\/em>, together with Cullberg, she explores complex forms of expression and confronts different historical narratives: What is the center of the world and who belongs to it? What does it mean to be human, and why can some be claimed to be more human than others?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1242\" data-end=\"1259\"><strong data-start=\"1242\" data-end=\"1257\">Ligia Lewis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1626\">Ligia Lewis is a choreographer, dancer, and director. She presents her work on stage, in galleries or museums, through film, or in exhibition formats, and her work has been shown around the world. Ligia works with great specificity in movement, letting the dancers\u2019 bodies carve out carefully formulated ideas that critically examine how we relate to one another.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1647\"><strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1645\">Co-production<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1892\">The project is co-produced with Tanz im August \/ HAU Hebbel am Ufer and PACT Zollverein, and will have an international premiere.
