Through SIMKA they combine their knowledge and skills from visual art, set design and landscape architecture. The core of their work is the investigation and formation of different spaces and sites for human interaction. Informed by the tensions between urbanity and nature, as well as the fictional and the habitual world. The pieces are more or less permanent, located in the gaps, the solitary or disintegrated spaces of the public or private sphere.<\/p>\n<p>SIMKA was formed in 2001, and has since then produced a number of large public commissions, among them: <em>O-wall<\/em>, Henriksdalsh\u00f6jden&#8217;s pre school (Nacka Kultur), <em>Wonderland<\/em>, at the penitentiary institution Hall in S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje (Statens Konstr\u00e5d), <em>The song of the forest<\/em>, Igelstaverket, S\u00f6dert\u00e4lje (S\u00f6derenergi Kraftv\u00e4rme AB), and <em>Les Trois Mages<\/em>, outside Notre Dame in Reims for the festival <em>Reims Sc\u00e9nes d\u2019Europe<\/em>, France.\u00a0 They have created\u00a0 set design and costumes for <em>Tusen \u00e5r hos Gud<\/em> , choreography Margaretha \u00c5sberg at The Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm, <em>Leonora Carrington<\/em>, set design and art installation for theater Unga Klara, project for <em>Orgeval \/ Foyer Remois &amp; La Frich\u00e9 Artistique<\/em> and <em>Reims Sc\u00e9n\u00e9s d\u2019Europe<\/em> in Reims, France, exhibitions at K\u00f6rsb\u00e4rsg\u00e5rden konsthall, Gotland, Lule\u00e5 Konsthall and <em>Baltic Sea<\/em>, for European Capital of Culture in Ume\u00e5 in collaboration with Norrlandsoperan, Sweden, at Gallery Noass in Riga, Latvia and Pori Art Museum in Pori, Finland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIMKA is the project name for the visual artists Simon H\u00e4ggblom\u2019s and Karin Lind\u2019s shared artistic activities.
