{"id":4736,"date":"2018-11-26T14:50:28","date_gmt":"2018-11-26T14:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cullbergbaletten.se\/personal_portraits\/imogen-heath\/"},"modified":"2020-04-09T08:35:11","modified_gmt":"2020-04-09T08:35:11","slug":"imogen-heath","status":"publish","type":"personal_portraits","link":"https:\/\/cms.cullberg.com\/en\/personal_portraits\/imogen-heath\/","title":{"rendered":"Imogen Heath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imogen Heath is a Berlin-based artist working within the fields of filmmaking, installation, cinematography, lighting-design and as a producer within an autonomous queer art-making community.<\/p>\n<p>Heath is invested in expanding perspectives on desire, femininity and gender, rupturing chronological experiences of time to propose alternative histories and radical futures and image-making as a platform to investigate self-organised art-making cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Heath uses analogue film materiality and its chemical potential to ignite processes of transformation. In the artists\u2019 film, <em>Sexual Chemistry,<\/em> an archive of friends, lovers and kisses are depicted coming together in touch, softening the boundaries of the body and depicting queer notions of being together in community but also a shifting community in decay.<\/p>\n<p>Heath is a founder of the queer film-production collective <em>NowMomentNow<\/em>, and a part of the food-performance group <em>FOODGASM<\/em>, a satellite project of <em>NowMomentNow<\/em>. <em>NowMomentnow<\/em> has been disrupting the art- and film-making scene in Berlin since 2010, curating film-programs, events and producing DIY film projects.<\/p>\n<p>Heath produces visual content for a diverse community of artists, musicians and performers. Ongoing collaborations include musician PlanningToRock (UK), choreographer Ian Kaler (Austria), film-director Marit \u00d6stberg (Sweden) and performer\/film-maker Liz Rosenfeld (USA).<\/p>\n<p>Heath\u2019s work as cinematographer on the black and white 16mm analogue feature- film project <em>The Lost<\/em> (dir: Reynold Reynolds) set in Berlin in the 1930\u2019s, was nominated for Best Cinematography for a Debut Feature Film at CamerImage Cinematography Film Festival, 2015<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Imogen Heath is a Berlin-based artist working within the fields of filmmaking, installation, cinematography, lighting-design and as a producer within an autonomous queer art-making community.
