Antigone

Antigone was created in 1979 by Mats Ek and was in the company’s repertoire for two years. Having previously danced each performance of Antigone himself, Ek finally saw the work as member of the audience and, in so doing, decided to rework the piece. Almost ten years later, in 1988, a renewed version of the original was premiered by Stuttgart Ballet under the title Som Antigone (Like Antigone). The piece featured new music, costumes and decor and was slightly shorter in duration at 35 minutes long.
