The Sea is essentially a pas de deux but encompassing three distinct participants: the boy who grew up by the sea, the girl who sees its waters for the first time, and the ocean itself. The sea is present in their play, in their discovery of each other. The sea sparks a strong sense of life in both, catapulting them toward one another. The sea triggers their love. Caught in their passion the boy forgets that the tide is coming, and the sea rises while they make love. They are washed away but manage to save themselves. The beach is deserted once again.
