Poem to Joy

As the title suggests, Lar Lubovitch’s Poem to Joy is an ode to joy in its various forms. The first five cello movements, whose music is based on folk and court dances, focus on external joys: play, celebration, Eros, and of course dance. The sixth and last movement focuses on inner joy and harmony, a state of contentment that humanity has longed for since time eternal.
