The American dancer and choreographer Miguel Godreau danced in the Cullberg Ballet for a period in the early 1970s. He became renowned as a dancer in the Alvin Ailey Company where he was active from the mid-1960s.
The inspiration for the work Freedom came from a quote by Albert Einstein: “Peace is not achieved by force – only through understanding.”
