“The ballet has no narrative as such, but attempts to portray different states and situations as I remember them from my youth. It was often a struggle.
Loneliness and shyness, lack of ability against bigger, hairier and stronger comrades. At the same time a struggle to be included, to not be spit on and misjudged by these self same comrades. In addition the very anxiety ridden but still clearly self evident struggle to experience love, which then became completely different than one imagined, which in turn brought a feeling of shame about all the previous expectations one had about love. A struggle to broaden one’s reality, a will to impress and the requisite fear to make a fool of oneself. And mixed with all this, an often violent joy at being able to experience the adventure of growth and existence.”
